Our Story
A New Dawn was created to provide support and resources for survivors of child loss. Birthed after the passing of my 18-year-old son, Sha’don Gordon, this mission began in the silence after his Celebration of Life, when everyone went home and I was left alone to figure out how to survive.
What began as a personal journey to find tools for survival has evolved into

We are a testament to resilience and the light that emerges when hearts heal together. You were never meant to walk this path alone.
We can honor our children’s lives by walking softly beside one another, because this is a journey no one should have to navigate by themselves.

Kate’s Club is a community for children and teens, their families, and young adults who experienced the death of someone close to them.
April McCoy started the KWAME Foundation named after her son. She hosts a monthly mommy brunch for grieving parents.
